This video mainly looks at the Flip Ultra HD, however it takes time to compare the two, so you don’t have to…

“Club: Create” AUCB FDA Final Major Project:
May 21, 2010
Welcome, to my conceptual design for a creative commons/club that I call:
“Club: Create”
The ethos behind the design project was to provide a space where people could network during the day. And at the same time be easily transformed into a bar/club type environment at night. Hopefully bringing a sense of community to town centres.

The predominant designs in the space are the two chair and table “shelves,” one on either floor. The idea came to me as I was trying to work out a way to fold the tables into the walls. At first it almost seamed too simple however it would work much like a kitchen cabinet, that you need to push in before it opens… the chairs and tables would simply slot in when the space is used as the night mode and locked into place by an electron magnet. Placed on the back or bottom of the chairs. This would prevent any rowdy club goers from damaging anything, I found that a happy side effect of the shelves is that LCD screens could be placed within the cavity and in places where the shelves are lower, they could even be used as extra seating.

mpkappert’s take on new TV show “Caprica”
March 10, 2010
“Caprica”
My thoughts on the first two instalments
Ok well I finally saw the first episode of Caprica, and what can I say but. Oh my god! It’s like tech porn! Some pretty grim views on humanity but the gadgets are amazing!!!!! Digital paper tablets! And all
The plot follows the emergence of the Sylons, 50 year before the destruction of Caprica, and follows the families affected by a terrorist bombing that kicks the series off.
Granted the pilot dose drag on a bit however I’m betting that like Battlestar Galactica this series will be one of those that one needs to watch since the beginning. This become apparent as you begin to watch the second episode, which reveals a barrage of spin off plots that, I’m sure will keep it interesting….
Now I’m normally quite positive about most (well all) sci-fi film and TV ventures, this of course being because I find my self as somewhat of a sci-fi geek! I mean my fist dissertation questioned why the physical properties of space are not accounted in most sci-fi films…
However as I currently find myself working on CAD software’s, I must say that the CG fails! So much so that some of the cityscape shots and the renders of the main characters house, look like SketchUp models rendered on 3ds max! Personally I would have spent more time on the CAD visuals. But that’s just me…
Am I going to keep watching? Yes, yes a big fat yes…
The futuristic tech and amazing gadgets are plenty enough to satisfy any true geek’s needs, what come after that, how the story develops whether or not I get board, no one know… I guess I’m just going to have to watch the 3 episode…
